This song was written by Shetlander John T Barclay for his granddaughter May, the namesake of David's granddaughter born in 2006. David and Jean spent a memorable holiday on the Shetlands that year. Also pictured with her harp is Christine Guy from Wales who was appointed visiting music teacher to the Northern Isles. Christine compiled the excellent book 'Songs and Sights of Shetland' and lived in Yell until her untimely death in 1995. Visit the Shetlands - you could do no better!
