CHAPTER 39 recap: [from sallie/jake in chapter 37] but the thing that got to me was that last word- goodbye. he said goodbye for good. I knew that I could never stay away from him for that long SALLIES POV I woke up the next day with a terrible headache and huge puffy eyes. I rolled over in my bed and started reaching around the nightstand for my phone but I couldnt find it. then I finally remembered that I had thrown it in the lobby fountain last night- in a desperate attempt to get rid of jason. luckily it worked then all of my thoughts from last night came flooding back. the club, making out with jason, jake finding out, finally ending everything with jason, and the worst part by far, jake saying goodbye I needed to stop thinking about all of this. I need to clear my mind. I need to get away. I stopped daydreaming and got out of bed to take a shower- hoping that it would help me forget a little more. after I got out of the shower I put on some semi- nice clothes (knowing that I would have to do something with my brothers today) and threw on some make up. when I was finishing up I heard a knock on the door. I yelled come in- knowing that I had been to lazy to lock it the night before, and im sure whoever wanted to come in would have a room key. I turned around and found kevin in the doorway to my mini living room. sallie: oh- hey kev whats up? kevin: [walking over to the couch and sitting down] nothing really, just wanted to make sure your okay. sallie: why wouldnt I be okay?? kevin: sallie, I know something happened between you and jake last night sallie: what?! how do you know??! does he have to tell EVERYONE about our personal lives????!! kevin: sal, relax. he didnt tell anyone. I just kinda figured it out sallie: well how did you figure it out?! kevin: this morning he was kinda sulking around and you slept until- I dont know- about 1 in the afternoon. oh and also either of you werent too quiet last night at two in the morning when you decided to lash out about your problems in the hallway that all of our rooms are in sallie: [pacing around and talking to herself] oh shit shit shit!! ugh how could I be soo stupid?! I knew we shouldve gone in a room to talk, that wouldve made much more sense. but of course NO one was making sense last night fuck!! what if mom and dad heard all of that??!! ugh im going to be in soo much trouble if they heard all of that [mumbling on to herself] kevin: okay sal, how bout you just stop freaking out and tell me what all happened last night. you know I might be able to help you sort everything out. sallie: okay fine [sits down on the couch] im gonna tell you a very reduced version of the story, okay?? kevin: I guess thats better than none sallie: okay so to make a long story short: I went to the club downstairs with jason and rene, got drunk, made out with jason, jake came in and saw me and jason, he flipped out and left, I tried to follow him but jason ended up following me, he started treating me like shit so I turned around and told him everything between us is over and threw my phone in the fountain and flicked him off, I went up here to try and apologize to jake, instead jake came back at me saying that we should just say goodbye to each other for good. kevin: wow. you had one interesting night sallie: yeah thats for sure. I just really need to talk to jake- I want to make things right between us again kevin: well you have quite a lot of explaining for him sallie: yeah I know woah. who knows whats gonna happen next??! not me! lol I still havent decided!!!!
