Jimmy Page, Edge of U2, and Jack White @ Toronto Film Fest

Duration: 0:52

http://www.shovine.com/ Jimmy Page, Edge of U2, and Jack White @ Toronto Film Fest for premiere of the documentary "It might get loud" A while back, we told you about It Might Get Loud, a new documentary which focuses on the unique playing styles of Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White. The picture had its unofficial premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May, and will have its official unveiling at the Toronto Film Festival in September. Directed by Davis Guggenheim (Oscar winner for An Inconvenient Truth), the movie revolves around a single day when Led Zeppelin's Page, U2's Edge and The White Stripes's White meet, sit down together, share stories, teach and play. In one scene, as the guitarists banter with one another about their influences, Page pulls out a Link Wray album, the Edge pulls out an album by the Sex Pistols and White whips out an album by the Flat Duo Jets. Like we said, they're unique. Once It Might Get Loud unspools in Totonto, it should be hitting theaters in either late '08 or early '09. Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in 1968 by Jimmy Page (guitar), Robert Plant (vocals), John Paul Jones (bass guitar, keyboards) and John Bonham (drums). With their heavy, guitar-driven sound, Led Zeppelin are regarded as one of the first heavy metal bands.[1][2] However, the band's individualistic style draws from many sources and transcends any one genre.[3] Their rock-infused interpretation of the blues and folk genres[4] also incorporated rockabilly,[5] reggae,[6] soul,[7] funk,[8] classical, Celtic, Indian, Arabic, pop, Latin and country. The band did not release the popular songs from their albums as singles in the UK, as they preferred to develop the concept of album-oriented rock.[9] Close to 30 years after disbanding following Bonham's death in 1980, the band continues to be held in high regard for their artistic achievements, commercial success and broad influence. The band have sold more than 300 million albums worldwide,[10][11][12][13][14] including 111.5 million sales in the United States[15] and they have had all of their original studio albums reach the U.S. Billboard Top 10,[16] with six reaching the number one spot. Led Zeppelin are ranked No. 1 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.[17] Rolling Stone magazine has described Led Zeppelin as "the heaviest band of all time" and "the biggest band of the 70s".[18] On 10 December 2007 the surviving members of Led Zeppelin reunited (along with deceased drummer John Bonham's son Jason) for the Ahmet Ertegün Tribute Concert at The O2 in London. U2 are a rock band from Dublin, Ireland. The band consists of Bono (vocals and guitar), The Edge (guitar, keyboards, and vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar) and Larry Mullen, Jr. (drums and percussion). The band formed in 1976 when the members were teenagers with limited musical proficiency. By the mid-1980s, however, the band had become a top international act, noted for their anthemic sound, Bono's impassioned vocals, and The Edge's textural guitar playing. Their success as a live act was greater than their success at selling records until their 1987 album The Joshua Tree[1] increased the band's stature "from heroes to superstars," according to Rolling Stone.[2] U2 responded to the dance and alternative rock revolutions, and their own sense of musical stagnation by reinventing themselves with their 1991 album Achtung Baby and the accompanying Zoo TV Tour. Similar experimentation continued for the rest of the 1990s. Since 2000, U2 have pursued a more traditional sound that retains the influence of their previous musical explorations. U2 have sold more than 170 million albums worldwide[3] and have won more Grammy Awards than any other band.[4] In 2005, the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility. Rolling Stone magazine listed U2 at #22 in its list of the 100 greatest artists of all time.[5] Throughout their career, as a band and as individuals, they have campaigned for human rights and social justice causes, including Amnesty International, the ONE Campaign, and Bono's DATA (Debt, AIDS, Trade in Africa) campaign. jimmy page led zeppelin edge u2 jack white toronto international film fest tiff it might get loud
