Ch. 17. They both came out of their daze. Skylar: Wow...this place is sooo... Joe: 50's! Skylar: Yeah... The looked around. The walls painted a light teal with a bright pink border. The Neon signs on the wall that said Pie Coffee and Brownies They saw that the waitresses were young and pretty. All of them female except for one. They realized that every waitress was on skates. And the only male there, was in what looked like bowling shoes. They heard music. Joe: Elvis. Skylar: Its a juke box. Joe: Hey it has water in it! Like the movies! Sa-Weet! ?: Yall can go ahead and seat your selves and i'll be right with yall. It was a cute high voice with a southern accent. The pretty blond girl that said it wheeled passed them, plates up to her shoulders and smiled. Joe shrugged and led them both to a Neon Blue booth. They examined the little stand-up menu that stood on the table's pink top. About 2 minutes later the pretty blond came to their table. ?: hey you guys my name is Katy. I'll be your waitresses today. What can i get you? Skylar: Katy? That's the name of the diner right? Katy: Yes Mame. Joe: Aren't you kinda young to own a diner? I mean you must be just 17.. Katy: I just turned 16 sir. And my mom owns the diner. She just named it after me. Her name is Daisy. Joe and Skylar: -Oh Katy: haha okay then well now that you know all about me, would it be rude to ask about you? Skylar smiled. Skylar: Not at all. I'm Skylar. Katy: So this must be your husband... Joe: Boyfriend. Jonas. Joe Jonas. He smiled too. Katy stared at Joe. Katy: I knew you looked familiar...your Joe! Joe: Didn't we just establish this...? He gave skylar a confused look and she shrugged. Katy: I'm sorry. Joe Jonas! You and your brothers...The JOBros! Joe: oh...yeah... Katy: You were my favorite. I had your poster, your C.D's...everything. Even made mama buy me a hat like yours. She smiled. Katy: Then a couple years ago...i just stopped hearing yall on the radio. Joe: Yeah me and my brothers decided to... Skylar: Um-just to all grow up and get jobs...you know be normal. Joe: Yeah...what she said. He looked down into a blur of pink Katy: oh well thats nice...anyway can i get you anything? On the house! Joe: Im not very hungry. Skylar: Babe...we can just go. Katy: Oh my. Im so sorry. Did i do something? Joe looked up at her and saw her frightened face. So he put on a mask and became 16 again. Joe: No Way! You did nothing...but you can get me some pie! Katy smiled a huge grin. Katy: Pie? What kind? We have all kinds! Probably some you've never heard of too. Joe: Really? Wow! How bout peach? With ice-cream? Sound good sky? Skylar: Yeah sounds great. She smiled. Katy: Okay i'll be right back sir. She started running to get the pie. Joe: Call me joe katy! And he heard katy squeal with delight. And he laughed. When katy came back he made sure that she saw him eat every bit that skylar didn't. Joe: It was wonderful katy. Really great. Katy: Really? Thanks! Joe: Well we better get going. Katy: Oh...alright. Joe got up and stretched then embraced katy in an a-frame hug. Joe: Thanks a ton kates. You made my day...really. He smiled and handed her a five dollar bill She smiled, held up the five, and said Katy: Can i trade this for an autograph? Joe: For you, and autograph, on the house. He grabbed a napkin and the pin from katy's order spiral. And wrote this: Katy, i think your really cool. I bet we would be great friends. I'll be sure to stop here more often, promise. Your Bud, Joe Jonas. He handed her the napkin, waited for her to read it and prepared himself for all the results it could bring. Katy: You just made me the happiest girl in the USA joe. Joe: I try. He smiled. Then he grabbed skylar's hand and walked out of the diner feeling new. Wow guys i got some comments that i absolutly LOVED reading. You guys are frikkin beasts.
