There are many different styles of martial arts that involve the bo. These styles differ much, such as Wushu and Karate. Wushu is more of a smooth martial arts, while karate is sharp and solid. My vids might not help the style you are practicing in.

Just find a stick in your house (broomstick works). And if you can, you can find a toothpick bo for better performance, buy one at a martial arts store, or your local martial arts dojo. NEVER START WITH THE SHINY ONES!
